Gene Riders, the Branch Chapter of B.Tech Biotechnology, intends to serve as the nerve centre of all student activities in the campus. It aims to foster a well-balanced development of its members through excellence in extra-curricular activities along with their academic achievements.

About CBSH

The College of Basic Sciences & Humanities was established in 1960 along with the inception of the University. It is a NAAC accredited and ISO 9001:2000 certified institution. The vision of the college has been to provide substantive orientation in basic and applied sciences by teaching and research in agriculture and allied sciences and technology. Besides assisting in teaching and research in other faculties, the college runs 12 P.G. and 9 Ph. D. programmes in different disciplines of science. The college carries the onus of instructional responsibilities in all the academic programmes of the university from of 15% to 32% at Undergraduate and 15% to 46% at the Postgraduate level.

About MBGE

Department of Molecular Biology & Genetic Engineering. Biotechnology can be viewed as group of useful enabling technologies that have tremendous potential in precision farming and molecular agriculture. In view of the importance of biotechnology, University has initiated Biotechnology program in 1986 to develop suitable biotechnological techniques to complement conventional methods of raising field crops. The Biotechnology program started in 1988 with the support of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India which serve as the nodal department besides imparting training to postgraduate students as part of manpower development program. After initiating the M.Sc. program, the department initiated a Ph.D. program in 1995 and has been offering it as inter-disciplinary program with curricular and faculty inputs from different departments. The students of this program not only excelled nationally but also internationally.


  • The performance should not include any offensive word or action, which would lead to disqualification of the band at that moment.
  • The minimum number of members within a band is 4 and the maximum is 8.
  • Performance should include at least one hindi song.
  • Time allotted to each band group is 12 minutes for the performance and 3 minutes for sound check.
  • Negative marks will be awarded for exceeding the time limit.
  • Only a 5 piece drum-set will be provided for the event.
